Alice Mizrachi is a New York-based interdisciplinary artist and educator working in the mediums of painting, murals, sculpture, and installation. Alice has worked as an arts educator for nearly twenty years for a variety of organizations, including BRIC Arts, The Laundromat Project, and The Studio Museum in Harlem. She has a BFA from The Parsons School of Design and was a guest instructor at The School of Visual Arts in 2015. Alice was also the co-founder of Younity, an international women’s art collective active from 2006-2012. As an advocate in the field of socially-engaged art, Alice has been a commentator and panelist on community-engaged art at Brown University and The Devos Institute of Arts Management.
Mizrachi maintains a studio practice in both New York and Miami, in addition to an extensive calendar of installation projects involving public murals and sculptures. She has been commissioned for murals globally in Amsterdam, Berlin, and Tel Aviv, as well having completed a mural residency with The University Of Northern Colorado. Alice has been featured in a number of publications including: The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Daily News, Time Out NY and The Architectural Digest. She has received grants from The Puffin Foundation and The Ford Foundation. Mizrachi’s recent projects include a public sculpture at Marcus Garvey Park and a mural commissioned by NYCDOT. With works featured in exhibitions at the Museum of City of New York, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, partaking in an artist in residency at Honeycomb Arts in Buenos Aires and curating a Latina art exhibit at Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana. With works featured in exhibitions at the Museum of the City of New York, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Wallworks, and commissions by UN Women, Mocada, and the World Trade Center, Alice Mizrachi has established a robust, continental career in art for over 20 years.
