With The Correct Context It Makes Total Sense

The Bishop Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition by artist Ronald Draper, featuring an emotionally charged collection of artwork.

Multidisciplinary artist Ronald Draper unveils his latest body of work entitled “With The Correct Context It Makes Total Sense”. This exhibition is a reflection of Draper’s personal growth and exploration of vulnerability through his artwork. Over the course of seven weeks and two days, he observed and documented each layer of his work, allowing his hopes, dreams, and fears to be expressed through his artwork. The result is a collection of thirteen pieces, each containing different combinations of the individual expressions, forming unique compositions.

“I invite you to take this walk with me down the pathway of artistic introspectionism”, says Draper. “My hope is that through this exhibition, viewers will find their own pathway to self-discovery and vulnerability.”

The exhibition is accompanied by several pages of observational data that contextualize every single color. This unique approach allows viewers a deep dive into Draper's personal world, providing a multi-layered experience that engages both the emotional and intellectual faculties. The sum of thirty expressions layered on one oversized canvas has been divided into a series of six sections that come as they are, and six aggregations of stitched fragments, reimagining the DNA from the aforementioned six. The largest piece contains paint from all thirty expressions, bearing the responsibility of the excess paint as well as the overflow from emotional episodes.

"With The Correct Context It Makes Total Sense" offers a rare intimate glimpse into the world of one of the most exciting multidisciplinary artists working today.
